However, high-rises now fill the area, housing an infinite number of companies.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about, \u00a0John Hemenway\u00a0Duncan, a prize-winning American architect is the designer of the hotel.<\/p>\n<p>Very renowned at the turn of the century, Duncan also designed\u00a0for\u00a0some of the most gorgeous townhouses. You can find them at the Upper East Side of Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>The Wolcott Hotel was not only sought by their loyal guests, but also by a large number of renowned names\u00a0who eventually became residents too.<\/p>\n<p>A few names were:\u00a0Buddy Holly, an American musician and singer-songwriter and Mark Twain, an American author and humorist!<\/p>\n<p>Also, the hotel has hosted several famous people (from earlier decades), and has been the scene of countless photoshoots.
