So you’re planning to visit NYC? We’re gonna give you 5 solid reasons to walk the Brooklyn Bridge!<\/p>\n

You probably have some highlights on your agenda already, the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the Natural History Museum.<\/p>\n

But, did you forget the Brooklyn Bridge? If you did it’s time to ale ate it to the top of your list and get it in early \u2013 here’s why.<\/p>\n

THE STUNNING VIEWS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

When you visit NYC you partly go there for the bustling shops, the museums, and the entertainment.<\/p>\n

The other reason you go is for the views. NYC has one of the most iconic skylines in the world and there are various ways to see it.<\/p>\n

One of those ways is by walking the Brooklyn Bridge<\/a>. OK so you won’t see the iconic skyline as you would on a postcard, but in some ways it’s even better.<\/p>\n

You get stunning views of Manhattan, the Freedom Tower, the Empire State Building and The Statue of Liberty.<\/p>\n

The Brooklyn Bridge is a mile long. That’s two miles if you walk across it and back. It’s even more if you count the steps it took you to get to the bridge and the steps you took on the Brooklyn side. All of this counts as exercise whether you log it or not.<\/p>\n

After a day at the Brooklyn Bridge you will feel as though you have been to the gym or run a half marathon. Don’t let that put you off, it builds core strength, fitness, and makes you feel like you deserve the treats on the other side. There are many treats.<\/p>\n

THE HISTORY <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Brooklyn Bridge has a long and interesting history with lots of secrets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It’s best to learn a little bit about it before you go to visit, then you can understand the feat of engineering and the sacrifice that was required to build it. The Brooklyn Bridge was completed in 1883, 125 years ago.<\/p>\n

To give you a snapshot, the Brooklyn Bridge is the oldest suspension bridge in the world, it also hasn’t changed much in its 125 year history.<\/p>\n

Also, did you know that 12 people died while building it? You can see some iconic images of the bridge being built at the city’s museums and archives.<\/p>\n

VISIT BROOKLYN<\/strong><\/h3>\n

When you visit NYC<\/a> you don’t want to miss out on Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately this is all too easy since it’s a peripheral Borough across the suspension bridge. Crossing the bridge give you the bridge experience and access to Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

There, you will encounter a huge mix of people, accents, and foods. It’s the quintessential area to visit in NYC. You can spend your time visiting art galleries, boutiques, and organic restaurants.<\/p>\n
