This gorgeous <a href=\"https:\/\/macariwines.com\/roots\/family\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">family-owned, family-operated vineyard<\/a> and winery is located just 1.5 \u2013 2h from Manhattan and the trip itself is a beauty.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the North Fork in the Long Island region, it&#8217;s known for being the home to countless great wineries spread throughout these lands.<\/p>\n<p>I met with gorgeous Gabriella Macari at the winery and had not only a great tasting experience with her, but was given a complete tour of the property. And I mean, WOW! I was truly amazed with what the Macari family has built and the memorable experiences they are offering their guests.<\/p>\n<p>So, let\u2019s start from the beginning! Oh! Macari Sr. started producing wine in his basement located in Corona, Queens &#8211; with his dad and granddad.<\/p>\n<p>Several years go by, business starts flourishing and in the 1960\u2019s they decide to purchase a 500-acre property in Long Island \u2013 the same land they are currently on. This old potato farm took quite a few years to regenerate and go back to becoming super fertile.<\/p>\n<p>But, after that happened, and they were able to start producing wine, business took off and never stopped!<\/p>\n<h3>Now, what to expect when you arrive at Macari Vineyards?<\/h3>\n<p>The first glance at the property is already breathtaking. Everything is impeccable, to the smallest detail. Inside the main house, you\u2019ll find the store with their numerous wines and different bottle sizes. There, you are also able to do some wine tasting, before deciding on which bottle to actually purchase and take home with you.<\/p>\n<p>This house has a huge and beautiful porch. The perfect place to continue your tasting with a great prime view of the winery. It\u2019s the perfect start to your experience at Macari Vineyards.<\/p>\n<p>After you\u2019ve tasted their wines and paired them with a few yummy appetizers \u2013 like a great cheese and charcuterie platter \u2013 you can explore and tour the property. And, of course, continue your tasting.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Gabriella told us that, just recently, they launched a beautiful private barrel cellar. It\u2019s a place to learn, taste and celebrate.
